Growing up, I did martial arts throughout my childhood. I always competed in the smallest weight class no matter how much older I became. My small frame didn’t really bother me until I was picked on in high school for being so “boney”. Things didn’t change much in college either. I finally decided to start going to the gym to gain some muscle mass. I thought that would make me feel better about myself. Over time, I definitely gained weight, but I also gained a lot of strength. I started to realize that I actually loved being strong more than anything. Now I encourage women everyday to start lifting no matter their goals.
Weightlifting has so many benefits and I feel that it is my duty to show people what amazing changes weight lifting does to our bodies!
